You can find all the details in the Shipment information page.
What kind of print products do you offer?
You can find all the details in the Product details page.
Do the prints come with a white border?
All Fine Art Paper prints come by default with a 2 cm white border. The white border is added to the size chosen on the order page, so for example choosing a 60 x 40 cm size, the final print with the white border will be 64 x 44 cm. If you wish to have your print without white border, please specify it in the order notes.
All the other products (Canvas, Metal Prints, Acrylic Prints) come without white border.
Is the quality of your prints better than the common poster / canvas websites?
Yes, for two main reasons:
- I personally prepare every photo before sending it to the lab for printing, making custom adjustments based on the medium chosen for the final print, using the ICC print profile provided by the photo lab. This ensures the best fidelity of the print product compared to the image you see on a monitor.
- the photo lab I work with is world renowned for its outstanding quality products, frequently used by artists for their gallery exhibitions. I have personally tested a few different labs during the years and I finally found the best one.
What paper should I choose for a fine art print?
You can choose between two Hahnemühle fine art papers, both outstanding in terms of quality and durability. The choice mainly depends on the kind of photo to be printed and on your personal taste for the surface finish (glossy vs matte).
For very vivid and contrasty photos, I always suggest to use the Fine Art Baryta 325gsm glossy paper, because of the deeper blacks and color saturation that this paper can handle.
For photos with more subtle and delicate tones, I would use the Photo Rag® 308gsm matte paper, better suited to convey the quiet atmospheres of certain images.
Of course I can give you my advice, even after the order has been placed, as there is no price difference between the two options. If you wish to change the paper choice after the order has been paid for though, please contact me immediately, before I send the image to the lab for printing.
My print looks different from what I see on your shop. Why?
As screens and monitors are all different from one user to another, it’s impossible for me to offer you the exact same result that what you see on my webshop. All our monitors and printers are professionally calibrated to offer the best results of printing.
Matte papers will always look less bright than glossy papers, as matte papers tend to drink more ink. The white balance of your screen/monitor might show an image that is warmer or colder than what your print actually is. This is perfectly normal, as each screens/monitors have different white balances. It is absolutely impossible for me to adapt to each one of them unfortunately.
Do you offer custom sizes for prints?
If the size you want for your print is not offered in my shop, please contact me to get a price quotation for the desired size.
Do you offer framing options for the prints?
Normally I don’t offer framed prints, but if you wish to have the print framed by me, please contact me and I will help you.
Will you sign the prints?
I do not offer signed prints, all the printed products are open editions.
How can I cancel or change my order?
If you want to change your order, please let us know as soon as possible, or at least within 24 hours after you have made your order. Passed this delay, your order will go on production, and it will be too late to make any change to it. Because every print is custom-made, we cannot accept any change or cancellation 24 hours after the order has been made. No refund will be offered.
If you have made a mistake in your shipping address or contact details, please let us know as soon as possible. If you can’t let us know within 48 hours passed your order, it may be hard for us to redirect the shipment, but we will do our best.
What happens if the print arrives damaged?
Great care is taken to wrap and pack your print carefully to avoid any damage in transit. However, if this does happen, we would ask that you get in touch with me immediately by email at info@matteocolombo.com after the delivery, and always within 24 hours of the delivery. In your email, please include pictures showing the damage.
In this case, I will replace the damaged item free of charge with a duplicate copy of the same print as ordered.
